Synbiobeta Videos — 09 September 2013

Andrew Hessel has released a one hour video presentation called “You Can and Must Understand Synthetic Biology”, taken from a similar title about computers from a book published in 1974. Hessel takes us through a full tour, assuming no prior knowledge, of all things synbio. The video covers, among other things, the mechanics of biology and the process of synthesizing DNA, the emergence of DIY Bio, the vast and varied applications of synthetic biology for the future, and the potential issues which could arise. If anyone needs to learn about the world of synthetic biology quickly, this is the clearest and most comprehensive explanation I have seen out there. Force your friends to watch it!
